Match the question types, not just the topic
The KS2 reading paper tests specific content domains — retrieval, inference, vocabulary in context, summarising, prediction, and authorial intent among them. Generic comprehension questions won't prepare pupils properly. Naming the domains in your prompt is what turns AI output from vaguely useful into genuinely targeted practice.
Prompt — full practice set
Write a 400-word fiction extract suitable for Year 6 SATs reading practice, with a clear narrative and some challenging vocabulary in context.
